News Manchester Police Investigating Widner Drug Break In Posted 10 January, 2012 Manchester Police are investigating an early morning burglary to the Widner Drug Store on South Franklin St.  Police responded to a burglary alarm at 4:30 AM on Sunday morning ( 1/8/12).  Upon arrival of Police and Sheriffs deputies they found the front door glass to the business had been broken into and suspects had already fled the scene.  Missing from the store was an undisclosed quantity of pills containing “pseudoephedrine” commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.  Two other pharmacy burglaries also occurred in neighboring counties that morning.  The investigation is continuing and police are analyzing evidence gathered. Anyone who observed any persons or vehicles in the area of WIdner Drug Store on Sunday morning at approximately 4:35 AM, are asked to call Manchester Police or anyone who would have observed a vehicle traveling westbound on old Hwy 20 between Manchester and the Buchanan County line near Hwy #187 at that same time.
