2010 'Magical Memories' World Tour Comes to UNI March 31

Coming off the most successful year in the franchise's history, with a
record-breaking 62 box offices records and more than two million fans,
the iconic Harlem Globetrotters are primed to showcase their 2010
"Magical Memories" World Tour at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at the
University of Northern Iowa McLeod Center with world-renowned
entertainment for fans young and old.
Now in its 84th consecutive season of touring the world, the
Globetrotters' show features "Big Easy" Lofton and "Flight Time" Lang,
who recently starred in the Emmy Award-winning CBS reality hit, "The
Amazing Race;" "Special K" Daley; Scooter Christensen; Handles Franklin
and Ant Atkinson.
Sports Illustrated praised the show as "the sports equivalent of
comfort food," in its March 2009 feature article on the Globetrotters
titled, "Still Crazy After All These Years."
"The Harlem Globetrotters are the epitome of world-class family fun,"
said Michael Kenney, the Globetrotters' senior vice president, live
event marketing. "You'll want to get your tickets now for an experience
the whole family will be talking about for years to come."
The tour is sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, Spalding and America's
Best Contacts and Eyeglasses. The Globetrotters will perform nearly 270
shows in more than 200 cities in 44 states, the District of Columbia,
five Canadian provinces and Puerto Rico through the first week of May
2010.
