Veterans Affairs Office Granted More Space
Posted 22 July 2008
The Winneshiek Board of Supervisors yesterday, Monday,
July 21, okayed a proposal in which a counselor with the County
Veterans Affairs Commission office will move to a magistrate court
office on the third floor of the courthouse in Decorah.
The issue has been discussed many times by the board with the
supervisors granting approval for both VA Commission Member Glenn
Larson and County VA Coordinator Deb Munson to make the change happen.
The local VA Commission also received approval earlier this month from
District Court Judges John Bauercamper and Margaret Lindgreen for the
change and use of the former magistrate office space.
The county will increase the size of a wall in the new office to
maintain privacy for staff and clients.
