Gipp Appointed to Director Position Posted 15 July 2008 Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey has announced that former Iowa legislator Chuck Gipp has been named the new Director of the Division of Soil Conservation. The Division of Soil Conservation is responsible for administering state programs and providing leadership to farmers, landowners, communities and others to promote the protection and management of soil, water and mineral resources. Gipp retired this spring after serving 18 years as a representative in the Iowa Legislature and four years as House Majority Leader. Gipp will relocate to the Des Moines area.
