CRP
Acres Now Eligible for Grazing
Posted 12 July 2008
The Winneshiek County FSA Office announced this week that Conservation
Reserve Program (CRP) acres in Winneshiek County are now eligible for
livestock grazing. The grazing is allowed since Winneshiek County has
been designated as a Presidential Disaster Area. This emergency grazing
authorization ends September 30.
To be approved, CRP participants in Winneshiek County must contact the
Winneshiek County Farm Service Agency office, obtain a modified
conservation plan and receive county office approval before beginning
to graze. Participants will experience a 25% reduction in their annual
CRP rental payment.
For more information, requirements and guidelines, contact the
Winneshiek County FSA Office.
