Woman Hospitalized Following Accident Posted 8 July 2008 Mary Skeate, 50, of Decorah was admitted to Winneshiek Medical Center Sunday afternoon, July 6, following a single vehicle accident.   According to the Decorah Police Department, Skeate was traveling on the wrong side of the median on Short Street and Highway 9, attempting to make a left turn into Highway 9. Her vehicle struck the median and sign, bounced off a cement barrier and entered the wrong lane of traffic, crossing over the median on Highways 9 and 52, damaging the stop sign. Her vehicle then struck a light pole on Highway 52 before coming to rest.   Skeate was taken by ambulance for medical treatment. Charges are pending in the incident.
