North
Winn Garbage Site has Moved
Posted 5 July 2008
On Wednesday, July 2, the North Winneshiek rural garbage collection
site moved.
It is now located on county property on the south side of the Locust
Road/Big Canoe intersection, across the street from St. John's Church.
Hours for the Locust rural collection site will remain the same:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the
exception of holidays.
The county has rural garbage collection sites throughout the county. In
addition to the one at Locust, there are locations in Fort Atkinson,
Ridgeway, Ossian, Kendallville and Bluffton. They are funded through
property taxes paid by rural residents and are intended for those
residents.
These collection sites are for household waste only. Hazardous
materials, appliances and tires are not accepted.
Materials left over from building or remodeling projects should be
taken to the landfill.
